Your Path to Success

The KGL Contest offers a structured three-stage journey, allowing students to progress from local participation to the Global Stage

Stage 1

Discovery

Register at your current CEFR level. Complete a multiple-choice assessment covering reading comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar. Duration: 45-60 minutes depending on level.

Outcome: All participants receive a certificate reflecting their overall score and performance level.
Stage 2

National Finals

Top performers from Discovery advance to compete nationally. The assessment includes listening comprehension, reading tasks, and a written component.

Outcome: 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners and commended students receive awards and certificates.
Stage 3

Global Event

Winners of the National Finals (1st place at levels A1, A2, B1, B2) travel to Greece for the Global Event. Global Finalists compete for top honors, trophies, and monetary prizes as well as the much sought-after Global Winner Prize.

Outcome: Global Winners receive cash prizes ($150-$500), trophies, and international recognition. Overall Global Winner receives additional $1,000 prize.

Awards to schools

All schools with winners receive certificates of recognition. Schools with selected finalists may designate a teacher to accompany the finalist to the Global Event

Prizes and awards

Finalists at levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 participate in the annual Global Event. Certificates and prizes for all winners and awards for commended contestants are dispatched to schools approximately two weeks following the announcement of the results for stage 2
